We are excited about our Water of Life VBS. Kids will enjoy water fun so bring a set a clothes to go home in. Registration starts at 8:30 am. Enjoy Noah's Ark, Baptism of Jesus, Jesus walks on water and Jesus calms the storm Bible stories. Kids will enjoy singing, crafts, the free lunch and have lots of FUN! Pre-schoolers who are potty trained thru kids who just finished 4th grade may attend. Offering will be taken for ELCA Walk for Water.

Aug 6    Basic Knife Skills: HANDS-ON
Sharpen your knife skills by learning the best way to hold your knife then use it for slicing and dicing. We'll also show you how to peel & prep a kiwi, mango, and avacado. Though we will have knives on hand for you to use, we recommend you bring your own Chef's knife. We'll also have a veggie platter and brownies for snacking. (Since we'll be using the kitchen, a waiver must be signed by each participant. Please have long hair pulled back and no open-toed shoes. Must be 18 or older)

Aug 25    30th Annual Duck Race
The Duck Race is The Center for Prevention of Abuse's largest fundraiser and the success of the Race is essential in raising funds to help all people live free from violence and abuse. This year, more than 30,000 rubber ducks will race down a giant water slide in East Peoria and the first 30 ducks to cross the finish line win a prize for their owner. Our prizes range from the $5,000 grand prize, to overnight hotels stays, travel packages, fine jewelry, gift cards, furniture, and more. This event helps raise nearly $200,000 for The Center’s mission of helping all people live in peace and brings together our community. The race begins at 2pm, with free family fun beginning at noon!
