May 29    WCHS Band Fundraiser
The WCHS Band Boosters are hosting a fundraiser at Monical's Pizza in Washington all day on Tuesday, May 29.   The restaurant will donate 20% of food sales (excluding alcohol) to the Boosters for all customers that provide a paper copy at time of order.

100% of the proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to support the WCHS bands.  The Band Boosters provide a significant portion of the annual budget for the band program, including the purchase of new instruments, stipends for visiting conductors and clinicians, commissioning of original music, supplies, scholarships for summer camps and expenses above and beyond those covered by the school.

The WCHS music program is an award winning music program with numerous state titles being earned over the last several years.  The WCHS Marching Band received numerous awards last fall at highly competitive marching competitions across the state with their program "Classically Twisted".

Most recently, our musicians are IHSA Class A Sweepstakes State Co-Champions! Combined scores for solo/ensemble and the organizational contest were compared across the state, and 300 WCHS students from band, choir and guitar earned top scores to earn first place overall. What a great accomplishment!
