Aug 4    Once Upon A Penguin: A Musical History of the Penguin Project
The Penguin Players, a collaboration involving ICC and the Penguin Project, presents a revue-style presentation featuring musical scenes from past Penguin Projects such as Annie, Jr.; Disney's High School Musical, Jr.; Disney's The Little Mermaid, Jr.; Singin' in the Rain Jr.; and more. In addition, former Penguin Project members will speak between musical numbers about their involvement in and memories of previous Penguin Project shows.

Join the Washington for a community night at the Peoria Chiefs. Washington sports teams (school and organizations) are invited to march in the parade of teams and/or form the high five tunnel - prior arrangements are required.

Aug 26    29th Annual Duck Race
The 29th annual Duck Race, to benefit The Center for Prevention of Abuse, takes place August 26 at 2pm at Eastside Centre in East Peoria. Activities begin at noon. This year’s race features a 750-foot slip-n-slide, which will run down the street leading to Eastside Centre. The ducks will be released from a City of East Peoria dump truck onto the slip-n-slide. Firefighters will help the ducks down the hill by spraying the track with water. The person whose duck makes it to the finish line first will be the winner of $5,000. There are also many other great prizes to be awarded.
