How Can I Keep from Singing?

Date: May 2, 2026 Time: 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Event Description Join the Peoria Area Civic Chorale and Dr. Joshua Russell for their first spring concert series together! How Can I Keep from Singing? will be presented May 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Five Points Washington. The concert title of How Can I Keep from Singing? is our response to Dr. Joseph D. Henry’s final concert request from spring 2025 to Sing On! This uplifting, exciting and powerful program will feature songs about singing and will explore and celebrate the many reasons that we choose to sing. The program will feature new arrangements and all-time favorite works ranging from classics to swing to spirituals and include “The Last Words of David,” “When the Saints Go Marching In,” “How Can I Keep from Singing?,“ “A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square,” “The Best Things Happen While You’re Dancing” and “Sing, Sing, Sing.” Our Youth Chorus will sing nightly and a Children's Festival Choir will perform on Friday. A cake reception will follow both concerts. Tickets will be available at the door or in advance at at https://peoriacivicchorale.org/concerts-and-tickets/.
